Job Overview
Position Description
The Senior Officer, Security will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies. This involves coordinating with the Security Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure the safety of all personnel and assets. The role includes overseeing security operations, managing security personnel, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Security Management
- Coordination with Security Manager: Work under the supervision of the Security Manager Thar to ensure all security measures are in place and suggest necessary changes.
- Security Plan Implementation: Ensure the presence of all security elements as per the security plan. This includes checking the functionality of cameras, lights, communication sets, gates, walls, fencing, watch towers, and barriers.
Personnel and Asset Protection
- Coordination for Transportation: Ensure smooth land and air movement of Chinese personnel from Thar to Karachi and back, in coordination with the army. Be present to receive and see off personnel from the site/airport.
- Access Control: Ensure strict discipline in core living and mining areas by checking the documents of employees, including employment cards, driving licenses, and CNICs, and stopping unnecessary movement.
Patrolling and Vigilance
- Conduct Patrolling: Conduct patrolling inside the project to enforce speed limits and avoid accidents. Be vigilant to ensure the safety and security of equipment and eliminate the chances of theft by taking timely proactive actions.
- Training Vigilance Team: Train the vigilance team for theft control, handling labor, investigating theft or quarrels, and ensuring physical presence in vulnerable areas.
Administration and Coordination
- Management of PSGs/5SGs: Manage PSGs/5SGs as per contract, ensuring provision of administrative support, maintaining attendance, leave control, and addressing other issues.
- Liaison with Authorities: Maintain good coordination with the Army, SPUs, and police. Resolve issues like conflicts, strikes, and sit-ins amicably.
- Special Tasks: Be ready to shift to Karachi if required and take on any special task assigned by the Security Manager or Head of Security.
Qualifications
For Retired Forces
- Education: At least 2 years of a Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field. Additional certifications are a plus.
- Experience: More than 15 years of experience working in an operational area with at least 5 years in security.
- Skills: Basic computer handling skills. Proficient in English and Sindhi.
For Civilians
- Education: 4 years of a Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field. Certifications like CPO, PSP, PCI, or military training/courses are a plus.
- Experience: More than 5 years of experience in security, preferably from an operational area.
- Skills: Basic computer handling skills. Proficient in English and Sindhi.
