The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change Environmental Coordination Management Jobs is inviting applications from Pakistani nationals for the position of Technical Advisor (MP-I). This position is based in Islamabad and is offered on a contract basis for three years, extendable for a maximum of two additional years based on satisfactory performance. The position is governed by the MP Scale Policy 2020, as amended from time to time.
Position Details
Technical Advisor (MP-I)
Contract Duration: Three years, extendable up to two years

Age Limit: Up to 62 years
Qualification and Eligibility
Educational Requirements:
- Ph.D./M.Phil or Master’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Climate Change
- Environmental Sciences
- Renewable Energy
- Natural Resource Management
- Environmental Economics & Policy
- Climate Finance
- Any other relevant field
- Degrees must be from HEC-recognized national or international universities of high ranking.
Experience Requirements:
- Ph.D. holders: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree holders: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including three years in senior management positions.
- Experience should be in areas such as policy formulation, strategic planning, development initiatives focused on climate change and project management.
- Additional qualifications in IT, project management, climate finance, environmental law, and sustainable development initiatives are advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of national and international climate change scenarios.
- Practical experience in multidisciplinary policy/strategy formulation and planning in environmental management.
- Knowledge and experience in climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management.
- Ability to publish impact-oriented research in high-impact journals.
- Skills to link climate change with sustainable development goals (SDGs) and other macroeconomic policies.
- Understanding of international donor operations and UN Agencies.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, including with governments, INGOs, and civil society.
- Analytical skills for preparing technical reports and position papers.
- Experience in drafting climate change-related bills/legislation.
