Essential Requirements

The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal executive and academic officer of the university, responsible for promoting teaching, research, and publications, and ensuring excellent administration. The applicant should:

Be not more than sixty-five (65) years of age on the last date fixed for the submission of applications.
Have earned a PhD degree from an HEC-recognized or UNESCO-listed institution.
Have experience in a senior academic, research, or management leadership position.
Possess a distinguished research and publications record.

Details of requisite qualifications, experience, and other relevant requirements (shortlisting criteria) for the position of Vice Chancellor of each university is available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. Only shortlisted/eligible candidates will be interviewed by the respective Search Committees.

Terms of Appointment & Salary

The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed for a term of four years and serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor (subject to the rules of law).
The incumbent will be entitled to the maximum salary of a Professor on the Tenure Track System as per the approval of the Government.

Certified copies of CV/educational certificates/degrees/diplomas.
Details of certified teaching and administrative experience in the form of an Experience Certificate duly issued by the concerned Registrar/Admin Office/HR Office. Notifications of postings will not be accepted.
List of HEC-recognized research publications.
Certified copies of the first page and index of recognized journals.
Detailed CV clearly highlighting all elements of eligibility criteria and personal attributes. It should start with the title of the First Degree, Grades, the name of the Institute/College, and the University.
Three recent passport-size photographs.
Seven extra copies of filled-in prescribed relevant proforma.

The applications of the interested professionals on the prescribed proforma, along with the supporting documents, should be addressed to the Secretary, Higher Education Department/Secretary of the Search Committee, Higher Education Department, New Anarkali, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The application, completed in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach the Higher Education Department not later than 24th June 2024 before the close of office hours (PST 1700 hrs).
