Responsibilities:
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory direct and indirect tax requirements.
- Timely Tax Payments: Guarantee the timely payment of income and sales tax liabilities, including the preparation of PSIDs for local and foreign tax payments.
- Relationship Management: Foster and maintain robust relationships with tax authorities.
- Advisor Coordination: Collaborate with tax advisors to address issues related to tax audits and notices issued by tax authorities.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives.
- Advisory Role: Provide guidance on new or amended tax laws to ensure their proper implementation.
- Payment Review: Scrutinize all payments to ensure valid deduction and withholding of income and sales tax.
- Agreement Review: Examine all agreements to ensure they include appropriate tax clauses.
- Return Filing: Demonstrate proficiency with FBR and SRB online portals for the accurate filing of annual, quarterly, and monthly returns and statements.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in MBA, ACCA, CA inter, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with Pakistani CPA or ACCA qualifications.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a tax firm is preferred.
- Tax Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of federal and provincial income and sales tax laws.
- Portal Proficiency: Expertise in using FBR and SRB online portals.
- Tax Payment Management: Proven experience in preparing PSIDs and ensuring the timely payment of taxes.
- Deduction and Withholding: Ability to review payments for valid tax deductions and withholdings.
- Contract Review: Experience in reviewing contracts to include necessary tax clauses.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Chinese will be considered an advantage.
