Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Evaluation Framework Development

• Contribute to the creation of a detailed, gender-responsive evaluation framework and associated products. This includes designing methodologies, tools, and metrics that effectively measure gender impact in our projects.

Project Support

• Support gender-based projects across Sindh and disseminate relevant information to project teams within SEDF. This involves providing technical assistance, capacity building, and ensuring gender integration in all project stages.

Gender Expertise

• Provide gender expertise and inputs for inception, draft evaluation, final evaluation reports, and communication products. Your insights will ensure our projects are designed and implemented with a strong gender perspective.

Coordination

• Coordinate the evaluation process, organize meetings, focus group discussions, and interviews at regional and community levels. Effective coordination will ensure that gender insights are captured and integrated into project evaluations.

Field Visits

• Participate in field visits or online meetings with targeted communities to support the women of Sindh. These visits will help gather firsthand information, assess project impact, and identify areas for improvement.

Strategy Development

• Develop an approach paper outlining the steps for formulating the gender and inclusion strategy. This strategy will guide SEDF’s efforts in promoting gender equality and empowering women in Sindh.

Desk Review

• Conduct a desk review of project materials and external resources to provide a baseline for the Gender and Inclusion Strategy. This involves reviewing existing literature, reports, and data to inform our strategic planning.

Qualifications/Experience

Education:

• Advanced (Master’s) degree or equivalent in Law, Political Science, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, or a related field. A strong educational background will support the technical demands of this role.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in evaluating or assessing development projects, programs, policies, or strategies.
• Deep understanding and expertise in women’s human rights and gender equality. Experience or knowledge in business and enterprise development is highly desirable.
• Proven track record in governance and women’s socio-economic uplift initiatives.
• Familiarity with the context of Sindh and gender equality issues in the region is advantageous.
• Prior experience working in rural Sindh and engaging with local communities will be beneficial.
• Experience with national and international development agencies is preferred and will be an added value.
