Required Qualifications and Experience
1. Legal Advisor (Supreme Court)
- Positions Available: 01 (Negotiable)
- Qualifications/Experience:
- LLB/LLM
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience with LLM qualification, with at least 10 years as a Supreme Court legal practitioner.
- Must be registered with the Supreme Court Bar Association.
- Publications in journals of national/international repute are preferred.
- Experience in similar positions within reputable organizations will be an added advantage.
2. Legal Advisor (High Court)
- Positions Available: 02 (Negotiable)
- Qualifications/Experience:
- LLB/LLM
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience with LLM qualification, with at least 5 years as a High Court legal practitioner.
- Must be registered with the High Court Bar Association.
- Publications in journals of national/international repute are preferred.
- Experience in similar positions within reputable organizations will be an added advantage.
3. Legal Advisor (Lower Court)
- Positions Available: 06 (Negotiable)
- Qualifications/Experience:
- LLB/LLM
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with LLM qualification, with at least 3 years as a Lower Court legal practitioner.
- Must be registered with the Lower Court Bar Association.
- Publications in journals of national/international repute are preferred.
- Experience in similar positions within reputable organizations will be an added advantage.
General Information / Terms & Conditions
- The positions are purely on a temporary, contract basis and are non-pensionable.
- Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are required to submit their applications, along with a complete CV and two recent passport-size photographs, to the office of the undersigned.
- The last date for submission of the application is June 15, 2024.
- Incomplete applications or those received after the due date will not be considered.
- Candidates must bring original documents at the time of the interview.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
- Salary packages are negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- The University reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions or to cancel the advertisement altogether.
- The selected candidates will be expected to handle a variety of legal matters including but not limited to drafting and reviewing legal documents, providing legal opinions, and representing the University in legal proceedings.
- The appointed advisors will work closely with the University administration and provide expert advice on compliance with laws and regulations, helping to ensure that the University’s operations are conducted within the legal framework.
- Advisors may also be involved in negotiations and drafting of contracts, ensuring that the University’s interests are protected.
- Successful candidates will have excellent research skills, the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly, and a proactive approach to legal problem-solving.
- The University emphasizes a collaborative work environment and the advisors will be expected to work closely with various departments to address legal issues that arise.
